Renewable energy FAQs

Q: What’s global warming?
A: Global warming refers to climate change over a short period of time (it’s not an exceptionally hot or cold day). It is the result of our carbon dioxide emissions released into the atmosphere–also known as our carbon footprint.

Q: What are some of the effects of global warming?
A: Obviously, rising average temperatures. Due to melting polar ice caps, the oceans have also risen dramatically in the last 100 years. Some Canadian tundra has started to become forests–these are just a few of the examples of what global warming can do.

Q: Can we prevent climate change?
A: Not until we curb the release of carbon emissions will we slow global warming, but we can all contribute in our ways. Ride a bike instead of driving a car (or carpool), plant trees, recycle more, don’t use incandescent light bulbs, and turn off appliances when they’re not in use–every little bit helps.
