Renewable energy

The way our society lives, it would seem that fossil fuel grows on trees. Even rising gas prices don’t seem to make any impact on which cars we drive or how many appliances we own. But oil is limited and investing in renewable energy is the only way to adapt when it runs out.

Most renewable energy comes from naturally-occurring processes, including:
• Solar
• Wind
• Hydro (water)
• Biomass (wood)

Carbon dioxide emissions are mainly responsible for our global warming. CO2 in our atmosphere absorbs the sun’s infrared waves instead of letting them pass – which raises the temperature of our planet. Increasing our use of renewable energy would diminish the amount of CO2 emissions, and thus curb the rate of global warming.
