Effects of global warming
Climate research has proven to be very controversial and even frightening
to some–which makes it easy to ignore or brush off as fiction.
But the negative effects of pollution and CO2 emissions are real, and
there is enough scientific research that to prove the dire effects of
global warming.
In February 2007, the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)
reported their findings regarding the effects of global warning, which
include:
• 11 of the last 12 years have ranked the warmest since 1850
• Stronger westerly winds
• Droughts last longer and are more intense (cover larger areas)
• Significant changes in extreme temperatures
Even with the irrefutable proof, some people believe there are no effects
of global warming. For instance, President Bush pulled the US out of
the Kyoto Treaty, an agreement that would restrict a nation’s
CO2 output, because he does not believe there is proof of climate change.
